MS Excel is a powerful and versatile tool which enables users to store, manipulate and analyse data quickly and easily. It includes a variety of business features which automate many common tasks, making it an essential application for businesses of all sizes.

This course, Advanced Excel, examines how data can be successfully and securely exchanged with outside sources and how it can be shared between multiple users. Advanced data analysis and functions are considered, along with an introduction to macros and Visual Basic for Applications. The course is designed as a practical workshop, allowing participants to receive hands-on experience of all topics covered.

The following areas will be covered:

  • Analysing Data, including “What If?”, goal seek, data tables, scenario manager, solver and Pivot tables
  • Macros, including recording & running macros, assigning macros to buttons, virus protection and auto open/close
  • Sharing Workbook, including consolidating data, shared workbook protection, conflicts of shared data, and administration
  • Template & Protection, including creating a template and protecting excel files
  • Importing from External Sources, dynamic data exchange, access, lotus notes, word and Powerpoint
